Westlake Village (Oct. 4, 2006) – This week The Guitar Center Music Foundation is putting donation boxes in 90 Guitar Center stores, offering Guitar Center customers an easy way to stand up for music education in their communities and across America. Guitar Center is big on music education, particularly at a time when that opportunity, for most people, is slipping away.
When customers leave their change in the donation boxes, they are putting instruments into the hands of the people who need music in their lives. The Guitar Center Music Foundation uses the donations to send gear to programs in at-risk neighborhoods, supply guitars for music academies, put music back in schools, and keep music alive. The foundations grants go to public and private music programs; charities like Guitars in the Classroom, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, The John Entwistle Foundation; and other programs dedicated to giving kids the opportunity to experience the benefits of music.
Please join in “talking up” the importance of this project and the difference we can all make. Every dollar that the foundation raises can make a difference in someone’s life.
