GRETSCH® GUITARS USED IN VIRAL OK GO MUSIC VIDEO AVAILABLE FOR SALE THROUGH THE FENDER MUSIC FOUNDATION

Proceeds support the foundation’s mission to provide music education to children and adults across the country.

Agoura Hills, Calif. (March 30, 2012) -The Fender Music Foundation today announces the sale of 11 Gretsch Electromatic® G5105 guitars and Gretsch Electromatic® G5222 amplifiers used in the viral OK Go “Needing/Getting” music video. The instruments, which are autographed by the band and include a certificate of authenticity, will be made available at 12 p.m. PST on Friday, April 6, on the foundation’s online memorabilia store

These guitars and amplifiers were an instrumental part of OK Go’s elaborate music video, which was aired as a Chevrolet commercial during the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI. In the video, the band performs “Needing/Getting” off their Of the Blue Colour of the Sky album while driving a Chevy Sonic that was modified to make music while driving past the 288 guitars and other instruments. Since being posted on Feb. 5, the video has received over 18 million hits online.

The Gretsch® guitars and amplifiers are the actual instruments used in the video, and are still in their road-worn and dusted condition. Available in black and red, each signed guitar is accompanied by an amplifier and a Fender cord (all used in the video), a letter of authenticity and a photo of the guitars taken on set during the production of the video. Packages start at a minimal $600. For more information, please visit www.fendermusicfoundation.org.
