An Evening of Live Entertainment to Raise Funds for Music and Music Education

PASADENA, Calif. - May 12, 2008 - Jaamoo, a live music-focused online media and technology company, presents the inaugural MUSIC MOOVESTM benefit, a celebration to raise funds to support music and music education. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 27 from 7-10 p.m. and will feature performances from established LA-based musical artists, as well as student musicians from local area schools performing between sets. Scheduled to perform are Lori Steele, Zachariah and the Lobos Riders, Damon Aaron, Jimi Yamagishi and Jeannie Willets. The event will be hosted at Altadena-based The Coffee Gallery/The Coffee Gallery Backstage, and will also include a free acoustic "side stage," as well as a silent auction featuring rare music memorabilia among other items, raffles and giveaways that all can participate in.

Admission to the Backstage performances is $15 dollars, with all proceeds raised going directly to the Guitar Center Music Foundation, Music Is Revolution and Pasadena Arts Council. Helping support the event will be several local business sponsors such as The Coffee Gallery, Canterbury Records, DC Golf, Red White & Bluezz, The Pasadena Jazz Institute, Agua Fresca and The Knitting Factory among others.

"Jaamoo is proud to partner with these three great organizations and help them further their goals of enhancing music education," said Mohan Chhabra, Founder and CEO of Jaamoo. "Jaamoo is dedicated to supporting music and increasing funding for music education in schools. Combining creativity with discipline, we believe that music is a powerful force that enhances all who practice it, and provides them with important life skills."

All proceeds raised will go directly to the following music and arts foundations:

  • Guitar Center Music Foundation: Created to provide funding and resources for music programs across America so that kids and adults alike will have an opportunity to experience the joys of music
  • Music Is Revolution: Dedicated to supporting music education programs in public schools
  • Pasadena Arts Council: The organization supports and promotes the arts in the greater Pasadena area
The Coffee Gallery Backstage, located at 2029 Lake Avenue in Altadena, is an intimate, 49-seat venue connected to The Coffee Gallery. Seating is limited and reservations are required only for the Backstage performances. To secure your spot, please call 626-398-7917.
