High School Student to Host Benefit Concert to Support the Guitar Center Music Foundation

The Gift of Music WAVERLY, New York - June 3, 2008 - Anthem of the Arts, founded by high school sophomore Sarah Flenders, will host a benefit concert on June 14 and 15 at the Jivin' Java Café in Waverly, NY. The benefit is open to the public and will feature over 16 bands, fire jugglers and belly dancers. Bands will include Days of War, Nate and Kate, Ruination, Amber Blues and Flenders' own band: Inhaling Your Disease.

Anthem of the Arts was formed by Sarah Flenders at the end of April 2008 to help raise money for charities through music and concerts. It started with a project given by her English teacher, challenging the class of 2010 to change the world. Sarah Flenders and Lizzei Crews were the hosts of this first show called Save the Music, Change the World. It raised over $900 for the Save The Music Foundation. "It's an amazing feeling to change the world, just before Lizzei said goodbye to the audience i remember saying 'I don't want this to end yet.' I wasn't ready for it." Flenders said. Anthem of the Arts not only supports music, but any organization or team that needs money.

Tickets for the concert are $6 for one day and $10 for both days. All of the proceeds will benefit the Guitar Center Music Foundation. Visit www.myspace.com/anthemofthearts to learn more.
